How To Patch An E-Bike Tire

Step 1

Disconnect the brake and take the wheel off using the wrench.

Step 2

Take the wheel off the bike.
Lean the bike up against something stable.

Step 3

Unscrew the valve cap and deflate the tube.
Empty it right out.

Step 4

Pinch the tire and insert the tire lever.

It should come off pretty easily.

Step 5

Hook the tire lever to flip the bead of the tire outside the rim.

Step 6

Use the second tire lever in there and work around the tip: Flipping the rest of the bead outside the rim.

Step 7

Pull out the inner tube.

Step 8

If you don’t have access to a spare tube, you can patch up the hole.

Use the abrasive pad to smooth out the rough surface of the hole.

Step 9

Use the alcohol pad to clean the area.

Let it dry for 30 seconds.

Step 10

Apply the glue and patch.

Leave for about 30 seconds.

Step 11

Run your fingers along the inside of the tire.

This is to make sure there’s nothing that may puncture the tire.

Step 12

Put a bit of air in the tube to give it some shape.

Step 13

Insert the valve stem into the hole of the rim.

Begin to gently place the tube back inside the tire.

Step 14

Using your hands, begin to work the bead back into the rim, moving from one side to the other.

Step 15

Inflate the tire to proper pressure and reattach your bike.

Ensure the tube isn’t caught in the bead or the rim.
