It is official – Segway, the company known for it’s Scooters, is now in the E-Bike business!  At the recent SEMA automotive products show in Las Vegas, Segway showed off their new X160 and X260 Electric Dirt Bikes.

Segway is moving into electric power sports.

We want to keep expanding our existing customer base and give them more options.”

The two new Segway dirt e-bikes are hybrid in nature, with a mix of both a dirt bike and mountain bike mixed in with a high powered battery.   According to Electrek – The X160 features a 3 kW peak motor that helps the bike top out at 50 km/h (31 mph). It has a range of 65 km (40 mi) from its 48 V and 1 kWh battery.
